My career as an artist centres around creating distinctive projects. The Millennium Sacred Sites project had involved travelling to over 40 countries to visit Sacred Sites in order to paint them in time for the new millennium. A brief knowledge about differing religious perspectives has been accrued during this process. 1 myself am not a particularly religious person, in fact I am beginning to understand that religion, or rather the dogmas attached to different religions, create more problems for the world rather than solutions. I find this particularly ironic since on closer inspection of differing religious texts, I could see that essentially each is saying similar things

This project is therefore a visual contribution to the general debate. It is essentially saying, look at these magnificent sacred buildings, look how they were all constructed for identical purposes; that is, to connect humanity to God.

Between 1998 and 2000 the project toured six provincial galleries in the UK and as paintings of other Sacred Sites are added, then further Tours are likely.
