FYLDE artist Jerry Gordon,
whose Millennium project 'Harmony and Diversity' was featured in Lancashire
Life at the beginning of last year, is now exhibiting the collection
of more than 40 paintings at Blackpool's Grundy Art Gallery. The paintings
feature some of the world's best known sacred sites, as well as some less
well known, as a celebration of the diversity of cultures and experiences
across the world. Jerry has had many interesting experiences along the
way which are reflected in his works, from escaping a terrorist bomb in
Istanbul to explaining to the KGB why he was travelling alone in an orange
VW Beetle. His exhibition is complemented by a series of gallery and library
workshops for children and a series of talks by the artist on his career
as a painter-traveller. The exhibition runs until July 3rd. |
