back to: 'Our Garden' overview page
This is not really a picture of our garden but the last part that you'd walk past to reach the front door. To brighten up the view from the kitchen window Marie made these two hanging baskets which came from the 'The Pound Shop'. The linings were made from an old plastic table-cloth that we bought in the Czech Republic - it was also decorated with flowers.
I used to use the bicycle a lot when I worked as a bus driver but now it's broken and would probably cost more to repair than getting another one as the gear change mechanism broke as well as several rear spokes. I'm very glad that it chose to break when I changed jobs and no longer needed it as now I work with London Underground and can walk to Wembley Park station in less than 15 minutes.
The tomatoes slowly ripened this year so we'll probably have some green tomato chutney. I feel really privileged to have organic food! When we first came there were lots of these fleshy leaved kalanchoe-like plants but we just kept one as a memory. The ivy grew from a cutting given by my mum.
