These pictures are part of a group called 'Home Town' and are of the artist's birth place on the German border with Denmark. The paintings are from memory and are painted with an intensity and passion in the studio flat that he shares with his wife, Carol, in Offenbach. A testimony from his wife recalls that when he was working on one painting  his trousers had come loose and were falling off and yet he didn't stop painting to try to get the atmosphere of his hometown onto the canvas.
These pictures have a spiritual purity because of his motivation to paint; he has made hundreds of paintings but has only recently started to exhibit and sell some of them. The pictures, at a first glance, seem deceptively simple and roughly painted and yet the more one looks into the paintings the more at peace one becomes.
These paintings can help to create a holy atmosphere in your home. Holiness, in this sense, meaning purity, truthfulness and beauty. I think that these paintings are well worth investing in as they will evoke the same emotions in future generations who have any feelings about their own origin and place of birth.

The other pictures in the 'Home Town' group are:   Small Town in the Morning
